Common Questions and Answers

Is the chapel open all year for weddings?

We are open for weddings from mid April thru mid November. If you would like a tour of the chapel, call, email, or text.  The chapel is available for tours by appointment any time of the year.

When preparing my invitations, where should I tell my guests the chapel is
located?

The Medina Wedding Chapel is located at W8832 Hwy. 96, Medina, Wisconsin.

What is the mailing address of the Medina Wedding Chapel?

    Medina Wedding Chapel
    N853 Julius Drive
    Appleton, WI 54914

How long is the ceremony at your chapel?

Usually around 20 minutes. For example, if a couple wants 3:00 p.m. for  their ceremony, the total reservation time would be 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. The couple can then arrive up to an hour before the ceremony. After the ceremony, they will have about an hour for their receiving line, photos, etc.

Does the Medina Chapel help locate a pastor or judge for the ceremony?

Yes. After you send in your deposit with the reservation form, we will locate a pastor or judge. The cost for the pastor or judge is not included in our price and is usually between $125-$175.

If I do not know what options I want right now, can I add an option later?

Yes, you may add options at any time. Many people find that it is easy to call or e-mail and add a unity candle, window candles or an aisle runner.

What do I do if I want more than 2 1/2 hours on my wedding day?

You may have more time if it is available. Ask about cost and availability. However, 2 1/2 hours is usually enough. If you are having a professional photographer, let him/her know your reservation times. It is important that the building and grounds be clear by the end of your reservation time.

Where do I get my marriage license?

You would get the marriage license in the county where either one of you is a resident. The marriage license is good for 60 days, so you should pick it up 2-3 weeks before the wedding date. The Medina Wedding Chapel is located in Outagamie County. Even though we are located in Medina, for the marriage license, we are in the Township of Dale, WI

What happens to the marriage license after the ceremony?

The marriage license is mailed to the Outagamie County courthouse by the pastor.  You can get a copy from the courthouse a week or so after the wedding.

May I bring my own decorations?

Yes, you can bring in flowers or other decorations. We would ask that you tell your florist to deliver your flowers at the beginning of your reservation time. Coming in any earlier might interfere with another wedding.

Are there any options for a different look on the back altar? (right behind where the couple stands)?

Yes, we have standard, gold and white inserts available for the back altar.  Just ask about this.  There are pictures of the three back altars under the photos section of our website.

I see you give the couple some pictures.  Do you also take the posed shots after the wedding?

Our pictures are mostly candid, so we don’t take posed shots after the wedding.  Our pictures are our wedding gift to the couple.  You are welcome to bring in a photographer for your wedding day.  A friend or relative can also take the posed pictures for you.

I love the idea of using the chapel’s baby grand for my wedding, but where can I find someone to play it?

We have a list of fine pianists ready to play for your wedding.  They are very experienced and the cost is $75 and up.  We highly recommend these fine people who love what they do and look forward to playing for your wedding.

  • Is the Chapel easy to find for our guests?
Yes, we are on Wisconsin Ave, which is a road that crosses the State.  Interstate 41 connects with Wisconsin Ave, so it is easy to find us. With smartphones and GPS systems, you can enter these map coordinates to bring you right to the chapel.  The coordinates are:  44.272581   -88.634037   Or, you can enter the chapel address, W8832 Hwy 96 Medina, WI  (Hwy 96 and Wisconsin Ave are the same road)
